Pole Position & A Double Podium!

A mega race weekend as Reza returns to the podium, not once, but twice, after securing his first pole position of the season - here’s your recap of everything you need to know from Snetterton.

It was great to be back on the podium for 2 out of 3 races this weekend, with Reza also picking up his first pole position of the season, for what was the 450th Ginetta Junior Championship race start since the series began back in 2003.

The team went through the car with a fine tooth comb following the last round at Silverstone, and have managed to identify and fix the issue that was leading to a decrease in engine performance.

As a result the car was on fire all weekend, helping to keep us right where we wanted to be, in amongst all of the action, allowing Reza to step onto the podium not once, but twice.

After securing Pole in Qualifying, Reza was on the front row for Race One, lining up alongside the championship leader Freddie Slater - after some mega wheel to wheel racing for the majority of the race distance, Reza came across the line in 2nd place, after Freddie managed to make a successful challenge for the lead in the final laps before the chequered flag came out.

Unfortunately, due to a track limit penalty in qualifying he was forced to start Race Two at the back of the grid, but once racing got underway he quickly managed to work his way back up to 8th, setting things up nicely for the final race of the weekend, and a chance at another podium. In race 3 he worked his way up to P3, securing his second podium of the weekend.

With another 123 finish, the team have extended their lead in the championship, and now that the car seems to be back on the pace, hopefully Reza can start climbing back up the rankings over the coming races in the drivers championship, and close out the season in the Top 3!

Now it’s onto the next round at Cadwell Park.
