A Triple Podium At Donington Park!

Following THAT record breaking weekend at Brands Hatch, Reza does it again, securing another triple podium finish in the season finalé at Donington Park.

Following a record breaking weekend at Brands Hatch, Reza continued his impressive form at Donington Park, as the Ginetta Junior Championship & British GT Series descended on the circuit for the final round of the 2023 season.

After a disrupted start to the weekends running, due to heavy rain and flooding at the circuit on Friday, the drivers missed out on the opportunity to undergo any testing before the lights went out for qualifying on Saturday morning.

A less than ideal start to the weekend, but one that Reza took in his stride, as he headed out for qualifying into the relative unknown. Quickly adapting to the changing circuit conditions, and with only a small number of laps used as a warm up, he was able to secure P5 start for race one and P6 for race two.

Race One

After a slightly hectic start to the first race of the weekend, with safety cars and red flags - Reza managed to make up a number of places across the race distance, eventually bringing it over the line in 2nd place.

Race Two

Following a very wet outing the day before, race two thankfully arrived with much more favourable conditions, a drying track, and plenty of sunshine which seemed to set the tone for the day. Following a brilliant start, Reza quickly quickly found his way to the front of the pack, and pulled of a much talked about overtake (see here) on the then race leader Alicia Palmowski, before extending his gap further by an impressive 3+ seconds to bring home the win.

Race Three

The final race of the weekend brought another spectacular show of racing from the Ginetta Junior Championship. Close racing from lights to flag, with plenty of drama thrown into the mix. It was Reza’s turn to be the camera car, and owing to his sharp skills behind the wheel, he gave us quite the show. After a brilliant drive, he brought it home in 2nd place once again.

In the days following the final weekend of the season, it was confirmed that Reza had secured the points needed to take 3rd place in the overall drivers standings - helping to round off an incredible debut in car racing.

Whilst the Ginetta Junior Championship comes to an end for another year, the hard work and preparation for some VERY exciting 2024 plans begins!
