Ginetta Awards 2023

On Friday night, the R-Racing Family team re-united at the Ginetta Annual Awards evening held at the Leeds Royal Armoury for an evening of celebration and reflection, as we looked back at the season gone by.

R Racing came away with the teams championship win, making it the third title win for the team since entering the championship only 4 years ago.

Reza came away with a double victory, being awarded 3rd Place overall in the drivers championship(s), taking away the main drivers championship win, alongside securing 3rd Place rookie title in what was his car racing debut year. His many achievements throughout the season were commended, including his dominance towards the end of the season, and ‘that’ monumental weekend at Brands Hatch.

Reza also scooped up a special recognition award, for being the only driver to start and finish every single race of the season in the past five years. This award demonstrating his ability to battle it out under the most high pressure circumstances, always coming away having enjoyed a clean race - wrestling the car through any conditions that were thrown his way.

Speaking to Mike Simpson, Ginetta Head of Motorsport after the awards, he commented that for Reza to have achieved this really was a fantastic feat especially as no driver had managed it for 5 years, he was also incredibly proud of Reza for being such a positive role model for and advocate of Ginetta Juniors

With the awards night now over, focus is very much now on Reza’s 2024 plans - with a special announcement set to be released on the 27th November. So keep those eyes peeled, this ones not to be missed.
