A Stunning Podium Finish At Brands Hatch!
A sun-soaked weekend at Reza’s favourite circuit, delivers his first podium in British F4, and the teams first 123 finish of the season!
It was a gloriously sunny weekend at Reza’s favourite UK circuit this weekend as the British F4 and BTCC package returned to Brands Hatch for a sellout weekend of racing action.
As temperatures soared and just over 80,000 fans descended on the circuit, it was time to get Round 2 of the British F4 Championship underway.
A typically strong circuit for Reza, following his history making weekend last year where he became the first driver in Ginetta Junior history to secure Triple Pole Position, lead every lap of every race, bringing home all 3 race wins in the process... it’s safe to say this circuit holds many fond memories, and some good luck for Reza!
Race One
Having qualified in 6th place, Reza was able to quickly make up a number of positions in the opening laps of the race. Owing to the short circuit layout, and limited overtaking opportunities on the Indy circuit, it can often prove difficult to move up the order - but Reza made light work of this as he charged towards the front of the pack.
From lights to flag he was challenging for 3rd place, edging closer and closer each lap. As the chequered flag came out, he brought the car home in 4th place, narrowly missing out on a 3rd place finish, marking a strong start to the weekend.
Race Two
After a dramatic start to the second race of the weekend, Reza unfortunately took some damage to his front wing as the pack began to bunch up under the safety car which forced him to box, ultimately putting him to the back of the grid as he excited the pits.
Despite closing the gap on the cars in-front by an impressive margin, and with time not being on his side, he wasn’t quite able to begin charging through the pack, coming home in 18th.
Race Three
Following a mixed set of results in Races One and Two of the weekend, Reza was determined to come away from the weekend with a good result.
As racing got underway, he was able to rapidly close the gap on the cars in-front, moving up a number of places along the way - and from then onwards he settled into a mighty rhythm. Achieving the fastest lap not once, but twice, during the race where he was rewarded for his efforts on the second to last lap - moving up to 3rd place as the race drew to a close, delivering the teams first 123 finish of the season, earning his first podium in British F4 (hopefully the first of many!)
